Marriage and Couples Counseling
$125/ 45-50 minutes — My approach to marriage and couple counseling is based on Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT). This approach has more than 30 years of research indicating that it is effective. I also sometimes incorporated elements of Gottman Couples Therapy and Linguistic systems therapy.
Family Counseling
$125/45-50 minutes–I use Linguistic Systems therapy to help families change negative patterns and improve their interactions.
Trauma
$125/45-50 minutes–I provide counseling for individuals who have experienced trauma. We focus on both building a tool kit for coping with trauma responses, and processing the traumatic experience to reduce symptoms and improve well-being. We also identify negative beliefs that have their roots in the trauma and challenge those beliefs.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
$125/45-50 minutes — I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy(EMDR). This is an approach developed for treating trauma which is now used for anxiety, OCD, and other issues. One advantage of using EMDR to treat trauma is that the trauma does not have to be described in detail. The client will have to bring up the traumatic memory in order to reprocess and integrate it, but I do not have to know all the details.
Group Counseling
$50/session — I provide Courage to Quit smoking cessation groups as well as groups focusing on other topics as needed.
Individual Counseling
$125/45-50 minutes — I provide individual counseling for many issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, etc. My approach is based on Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Relational Therapy. When appropriate, I also incorporate elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Counseling for New Mothers
$125/45-50 minutes—The transition to motherhood can be joyful, scary, exciting, unnerving, and crazy all at the same time! I use my experience as a mother of seven children as well as my experience as a counselor to help mothers navigate this transition effectively.
Play Therapy
$125/45-50 minutes—I am trained in Solution-Focused Play Therapy and Child-Centered Play Therapy. Since children are not able to express themselves through words in the same way that adults do, this is an effective way to help children. It can also be effective for adults, especially those who have difficulty with verbal expression.
