Has your relationship lost its spark? Do you love your partner but find yourselves stuck in the same arguments? Do you want help communicating more openly and effectively with your significant other?
These workshops are a great fit for:
· New relationships that want to start off strong
· Couples navigating a new phase of life
· Long-term relationships that want the next decades to be even better
· Relationships marked by frequent conflict
· Partners who feel more like “roommates” than a couple
· Any committed partners who want to deepen their connection
Hold Me Tight® Workshops were designed by Sue Johnson, the creator of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). EFT is an empirically validated approach to helping couples, supported by more than 35 years of process and outcome research.
In these workshops, we guide couples through seven conversations designed to help you better understand your relationship and your partner so you can rebuild the closeness you long for. After we present each concept and show an example of a couple having the conversation, you and your partner will have time to have that conversation with each other. We will be available for questions and support along the way. Afterward, the group will come back together to reflect on the process before moving on to the next conversation. No one is required to share, but many couples find it powerful to hear from others and realize how much they can relate.
Our next Hold Me Tight ® workshop will be held:
September 18-19, 2026
Friday, 5-8 PM and Saturday, 9 AM-5 PM
at the Lakeland Center
925 S. Giant City Rd
Carbondale, IL 62902

*Refunds available up to 7 days before the event.
**Note: I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and I am certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy for individuals, couples, and families, however Hold Me Tight® workshops are educational and not therapy. Relationships with significant distress may need weekly therapy where I can focus on just your partnership.
