I am fascinated by getting to know people and their stories. I love finding the gold within people…that indescribable spark of good…the beautiful true self…and I love to ally with that spark, that beauty, and walk with the person to a place where they can feel and believe it themselves.

The people that I help may be ones who struggle with experiences such as abuse, assault, immigration or refugee journeys, or loss. They may need help navigating life changes like college, career, birth of a child, new diagnoses, retirement, empty nesting, a child’s diagnosis, or an acquired disability. They may want help managing anxiety or depression. They may need a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space to explore their religious, sexual, and gender identities. The people I work best with want to grow, explore their strengths, and discover whatever might be holding them back.

I provide online Teletherapy using a strengths-based, person-centered approach. I draw skills from decades of experience in the counseling field in order to treat each person as an individual. Above all, I treat each with genuine dignity, kindness, and respect. If you would like to find the golden spark within you and use it to embrace life to the fullest, I would love to have the privilege of being a part of your journey. Send me a message today!

A little about me:

After spending 20 years in a lovely rural setting in Southern Illinois, I moved to NYC with my husband, 2 college aged kids, and a dog. I have taught graduate students for over 25 years, walking alongside them as they develop into counselors themselves. I love to travel, to eat traditional meals in different countries, to read murder mysteries, and to ride my bicycle. I spent time in the Peace Corps teaching math to 7th graders before returning to the US and working at the US EPA. Then...I discovered the mental health counseling field and the rest is history!
